In a destroyed monastery in the shadow of Mount Ararat, there is a mosaic that tells a story of a man who escaped a flood only to leave his beloved behind. In present day Armenia, Lieutenant Alicia Gray has come to inspect the ruins of this monastery, destroyed by US drones. Among the rubble she finds a mysterious man whose fate seems impossibly tangled with her own.
